Online Payment Options
DoorLedgers supports multiple payment methods to make rent collection convenient for both landlords and tenants.
Card Payments
Tenants can pay using:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Discover
Processing time: Immediate
Typical fee: 2.9% + $0.30
Bank Transfer (ACH)
Direct bank account payments offer lower fees.
How it works:
- Tenant links their bank account
- Payment is initiated
- Status shows as “Processing” for 2-3 business days
- Once cleared, payment is marked as “Paid”
Processing time: 2-3 business days
Typical fee: 0.8% (max $5)
Note: ACH payments cannot be duplicated while one is processing to prevent accidental double payments.
Saved Payment Methods
Tenants can save their payment methods for faster checkout:
- Save multiple cards
- Save bank accounts
- Set a default payment method
- Remove saved methods anytime
Security
All payment information is:
- Processed through Stripe’s secure platform
- Never stored on DoorLedgers servers
- Protected by bank-level encryption
- PCI-DSS compliant
