P2P Payments (Venmo, Zelle, CashApp)

Peer-to-Peer Payment Options

In addition to card and bank payments, you can accept rent through popular P2P platforms.

Configuring P2P Payments

  1. Go to “Payment Settings”
  2. Select a building
  3. In the P2P section, enable the methods you accept:
    • Venmo – Enter your @username
    • CashApp – Enter your
    • Zelle – Enter your email or phone
  4. Save your settings

How P2P Payments Work

  1. Tenant sees P2P options when paying rent
  2. They send payment through their preferred app
  3. They confirm payment in DoorLedgers
  4. You receive a notification to verify
  5. Once confirmed, the payment is recorded

Confirming P2P Payments

When a tenant reports a P2P payment:

  1. You’ll see it in “Payment Confirmations”
  2. Verify the payment in your Venmo/Zelle/CashApp
  3. Click “Confirm” to mark as paid, or “Reject” if not received
Important: Always verify P2P payments in the actual app before confirming. DoorLedgers cannot verify these payments automatically.

P2P in Rent Reminders

When you send rent reminders to tenants, their email includes:

  • Online payment link (card/ACH)
  • Your P2P handles (if configured)
  • Amount due

This gives tenants multiple convenient ways to pay.
