Managing rental properties means constantly pulling information from different places — who hasn’t paid, how much you spent last month, whether cash flow is positive, which leases are about to expire. You already know the answers are in your data. The problem is getting to them quickly.
Today we’re launching the DoorLedgers AI Assistant — a natural-language chat interface that lets you ask questions about your portfolio in plain English and get real answers, instantly.
Ask It Like You’d Ask a Person
You don’t need to know where to click. You don’t need to remember which report is under which menu. Just ask:
- “What’s my gross income for this year?”
- “Who hasn’t paid rent this month?”
- “Show me cash flow by building.”
- “Which leases are expiring in the next 60 days?”
- “What’s my NOI this month?”
The assistant reads your actual portfolio data — your buildings, your tenants, your rent records, your expenses — and gives you a direct answer. Not a generic chart. Not a redirect to a report. A real answer, based on your numbers.
It Can Take Actions Too
The assistant isn’t just read-only. You can ask it to do things:
- Register rent for all active leases — “Register all rents for April.”
- Add an expense — “Add a $450 plumbing repair to Building 1.”
- Record a loan payment — “Add a $2,000 mortgage payment for all buildings.”
- Send payment reminders — “Remind all unpaid tenants.”
Anything that writes to your data requires a confirmation step first. The assistant shows you exactly what it’s about to do — you review it, then confirm or cancel. No surprises.
Powered by Claude AI
The assistant is powered by Claude (Anthropic’s AI), the same technology behind some of the most capable AI tools available today. This means it understands natural language reliably — different phrasings of the same question, month references, building names — without you having to use exact keywords.
Responses typically come back in one to two seconds.
It Gets Smarter the More You Use It
Every successful interaction is stored as a learned example. Over time, the assistant builds up a library of how you and your team actually phrase requests — and uses those examples to interpret new questions more accurately. The more you use it, the better it understands your vocabulary.
Where to Find It
The AI Assistant is available now to all DoorLedgers users. Look for the AI Assistant link in the left sidebar when you’re logged in to your account.
If you have feedback on how it’s working — questions it handles well, ones it gets wrong, features you’d like to see — we want to hear it. This is an early version and we’re actively improving it based on real usage.
