Why I Built DoorLedgers

I manage rental properties myself and got tired of juggling spreadsheets, Venmo notes, reminder texts, and scattered records.

Most property management software felt overbuilt and overpriced for small landlords like me — loaded with features I would never use and priced for portfolios much larger than mine.

DoorLedgers started as a personal tool to track rent, expenses, and tenant communication — and grew into a platform built specifically for landlords with a handful of units who want clarity, not complexity.

Built Solo. Built with Users.

DoorLedgers is currently built and maintained by me, solo.

That means two things:

• Features are driven directly by real landlord feedback — not a product roadmap designed by committee
• Support is personal — not a ticket black hole where your request gets lost

If something does not make sense, I want to know. If a feature would save you time, tell me. This is software built by someone who actually uses it.
